Minors and Certificates
The following credentials are available to students depending on catalog choice and major.

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer/Sexualities Studies Minor (2016-2018 Catalog)
by online application with student's primary academic advisor
Fifteen semester-credit hours, including:
- WGS 303 or WGS 305;
- 3 hours of WGS 335;
- 3 hours of WGS 335;
- 3 additional hours of WGS 335 or any upper-division WGS;
- 3 additional hours of WGS 335 or any upper-division WGS.
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer/Sexualities Studies Certificate (2016-2018 Catalog)
by online application with student's primary academic advisor
Eighteen semester hours of coursework, including at least nine semester hours completed in residence, and C or higher in all coursework for the certificate.
Students must fulfill the following requirements:
- WGS 303 or 305;
- 3 hours of WGS 335;
- 3 hours of WGS 335;
- 3 additional hours of upper-division WGS;
- 3 additional hours of upper-division WGS;
- 3 additional hours of upper-division WGS.
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer/Sexualities Studies Certificate (2014-2016 Catalog)
by admission only. Advising from CWGS Academic Advisor is required.
Eighteen semester hours of coursework, including at least nine semester hours completed in residence, and C or higher in all coursework for the certificate.
Students must fulfill the following requirements:
- WGS 303 or 305;
- WGS 301 Topic 12 or an alternative pre-approved course (see list);
- 3 hours of WGS 335 or upper-division courses from the approved list;
- 3 hours of WGS 335 or upper-division courses from the approved list;
- 3 hours of WGS 335 or upper-division courses from the approved list;
- 3 hours of WGS 335 or upper-division courses from the approved list; must be outside the student’s major.

Catalog eligibility is determined by a number of factors. Switching catalogs and requirements may effect progress towards degree. Please consult with your home major's academic advisor to determine which catalog and credential best fits with your degree program and academic/professional goals.
