An internship is a temporary role at a company obtained by students in order to build skills, make connections and test out an industry. Internships prepare you for full-time employment and can often lead to an offer for a full-time job after graduation.

- Search for opportunities that match your needs and interests
- Use a variety of search tools to begin your search and set up alerts to be notified when a job matching your criteria is posted
- Go directly to websites of employers you are interested in and find their "Careers" or "Jobs" tab.
- Attend employer networking events and information sessions where you can learn about open roles and ask questions
- Keep in mind that employers should assign interns meaningful learning tasks/projects that are consistent with the job description and should provide a professional, established working environment.
